About a year ago a friend of mine came across an interesting picture. She sent it to me as a challenge to see what, if anything, I could create with it (as we are both writers, the emphasis being on a story, or some other form of written word). So here is the picture, and my answer!
Indecision
On the edge, a step before infinity, a cliff of possibilities
The path lay obscured
Round and winding, twisting back on itself
Shrouded in shade, or blinded by sunlight
Down one way and the paths beside you break like glass,
Fracturing tendrils spreading into mosaic
And at your feet is the same glass, threatening to cave under the weight of decision
Every action has a price,
Every inaction, a consequence
All paths lead to the same end,
But the difference is in how you get there,
How long it takes to reach the end,
What you choose along the way,
Who you inspire,
The fears you conquer,
The mistakes you make
Beneath your feet the glass cracks
Waiting
Begging
Mesmerizing
All paths lead to the same end,
Now… How to get there?
